CREATIVE CRECIMIENTO was Portland in Color’s inaugural welcoming, accessible professional development series for BIPOC artists in Oregon at any stage of their career. From bebecitx beginning their artistic journey to artists decades into their creative practice, this workshop and networking program was designed to help artists at all stages with tools, resources, and community support to sustain creative livelihoods.
This 4-week online workshop series ran on Mondays from 5:30-7:30 PM PT from September 15 through October 6, 2025. It culminated in a festive, cozy, in-person gathering at Bar Carlo in Portland, OR on October 20, 2025. The tuition for Creative Crecimiento was $50-$200 sliding scale, with scholarships available. All participants received subsidized tuition.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, diverse Latiné leaders and allies led attendees through interactive, supportive workshops and panel discussions on small business development, financial literacy, emotional wellbeing, and long-term career development, all through a community-centered lens. Together we shared tools, resources, and reflections to define and champion us into our next stage of sustainable growth.
This series was open to all artists who identify as Black, Indigenous, and/or people of color (BIPOC) living in Oregon or SW Washington, at any stages of their career.
Produced by Portland in Color co-founder, Emilly Prado, and the amazing team at Portland in Color, this offering was made possible thanks to generous funding by the Latino Partnership Program at Oregon Community Foundation, and our sponsors below. CREATIVE CRECIMIENTO was designed to empower our creative communities and expand what’s collectively possible when we center our diverse cultures, stories, and healing in our work.
